The Prayers of the People – 11.21.19

All Saints Chapel – CDSP

Alison Fischer

With confidence in our Lord’s compassion and love for all of creation, let us arise in communion with each other and offer our prayers by responding to “O, Gracious and Steadfast God” with “Hear our prayer.”

We pray for this community, the Church, and the world. Sustain all who join in the work of Jesus Christ with endurance, righteousness, and hope. Humble our hearts so that we may recognize the holy in each other, especially during conflict and suffering. Enlighten us with the wisdom to recognize You, your will, and all things that make for peace.

O, Gracious and Steadfast God

Hear our prayer.

We pray for all in authority. Foster a spirit of camaraderie amongst us as we support our leaders in body, mind, and spirit. Give those with responsibility of others the wisdom and ability to guide our communities in accordance to your will and concern for the “others.” Help us hold our leaders accountable in their actions and bring justice to those who abuse their power through oppression, sin, and the imposition of scarcity.

O, Gracious and Steadfast God

Hear our prayer.

We pray for our respective journeys through the wilderness. Give us serenity and assurance of your unwavering presence, light, and grace. Enliven us with the confidence of who we are and whose we are as we encounter the joys, trials, and failures of our human experiences. Guide us to share Your love with all whom we encounter so every person has the opportunity to abide in relationship with you.

O, Gracious and Steadfast God

Hear our prayer.

We pray for those who are suffering. Let them experience your infinite love and grace so that they may encounter their burdens with strength, peace, and confidence that is only found in you and your conquering of the evil, sin, and misery of our fallen world.

We especially pray for:

And those we now name aloud or silently:

O, Gracious and Steadfast God

Hear our prayer

We pray for all who have died; that, with all the saints, may rest in peace with no grief or pain but arise in eternal life.

We pray especially for:

And those we now name aloud or silently:

 O, Gracious and Steadfast God

Hear our prayer
